Detachment from Gaiea
I have been intrigued from time to time with the world of sufism, not because of its practices and sometimes unique appearance of the followers. It could be thought as odd by us perhaps.
My fascination probably revolves around these ideas:
- Ability to somehow directly make the connection through the One, at anytime, anywhere and at whatever knowledge we have in our faith. This gives me hope that even I, an unlearned one by any measures, can attempt to achieve the Truth.
- Most sufists tend to be very tolerant (at least people who started it), a projection that I believe come from within and not forced as in syari'ah, with its rigid and sometimes overbearing rules. Often time, people make institutional religion too dogmatic for anyone to be interested in learning more (or it could be that we are just lazy)
- This one point is the last one I can think of for now, but this is the most important one that I found. It is the ability to somehow be able to "detach" yourself from this world and have a different "view" toward it. To put it simply, it is like fish in the sea, that do not get salty eventhough they are surrounded by salt water. How do we live in a sea of life and somehow not corrupted by its illusions of wealth, happiness, sadness and various physical and mental conditions that come with it? Why is it so hard for us to shake the idea of millisecond in Mother Earth vs Eternity hereafter?
It may be too contemptuous of me to even come up with the above conclusion, but it is a process that I believe we must all strife to reach......to understand our nature here and know what our purpose is. Without purpose, this world that we live in is quite empty and.........has no meaning. I believe that understanding the above will bring us to a true happiness. May we all strife and persevere until the end.Any counter feedback on this will be appreciated.
