Lucky To Be Alive

Before I begin, I just would like to express my biggest condolences for those who suffered from the Tsunami on Sunday, December 26, 2004. I would like to encourage myself first and hopefully anyone reading this to provide whatever we can (prayer, money, clothing, etc.) to the victims, so their burdens will be eased.

I felt/still am feeling a pang of pain and also a sense of fragile watching what happened from this Tsunami. It is as if life can be taken away just like that, and here I am, having very minimum preparation for the next "journey". I wrote before about how death always close by, well, he/she definitely had his/her way last weekend. 23,000 and counting, another mind numbing figures.......


Ever since, I have kept thinking about I, Wisnu, have been one very lucky guy to be able to live until now (lucky? hmm.....not sure about that, hehe). I read news about this ex football player, Reggie White, who literally passed away in his sleep. Hm....how more fragile can life be? I mean, every night you close that tired eyes of yours, it could be the last time you exist on this planet. Phew....Well, I know that in time, death will visit me, I just hope that by then, I have enough to bring and he/she will take me in peace, with no regret.

Is it even useful though to hope that we will die a good death? Not sure, but I think we can always pray that ours won't be a violent one. Hope is what keeps us going, day in and day out. Having a strong faith, I believe, make us a stronger person as well, as otherwise this world is too complex for a feeble human mind to comprehend by reason alone.
