Fleeting Moments in Sakura

I think I understand now where those beautiful Haiku poems comes when it comes to futility of life. One of the great example is perhaps the short span life of Sakura, which if lucky enough, will last for two weeks. This year, Tokyo's Sakura might last for one week only as we are expecting thunderstom tonight, as I am writing this. It will surely blow those delicate flowers.

Let me just say now that I love Sakura flowers. Physically, it is very pretty, bright, pinkish colors, blossoming with full force. It is the most obvious sign that season has changed from the often bleak Winter to Spring. Of course, other signs are there, such as little bugs that start to whisk around, but they are more subtle in appearance, you have to watch for them. Only Sakura gives you the sense of change without an effort.

However, as in life, Sakura shows us how fleeting everything is. Within one or two weeks, the flowers will whittle away and being replaced by leaves that look like common leaves, dark green, tear drop shapes. All we can do is just to enjoy it whenever the opportunity is there and move on with our lives when the chance passes away. Beautiful metaphor of life, I thank Him for the message....
