History, Present and Eternal Journey
I have always liked history lesson throughout my formal education years (with the exception of boring and heavily dogmatic lessons they were taught) but never really understood why we learn it. Past is past and we should look forward to the future. Perhaps this is why the idea of future in science fiction is really fascinating for me, since it allows me to "see" various possible futures that are conjured up by the writers.
However, it dawns on me that history is a really interesting subject, especially really ancient ones. I marveled at the idea that there are civilizations that might even predate Egyptian culture (9-12 thousand years ago!), which is already an amazing culture in itself. There are so many things that we don't know and our life span is just too short to gain a full understanding of what is going on in our planet here. I wish there would be a way for me to obtain a key that holds all these secrets and mysteries, unlock it and be inundated with all the answers that I have questions for :) Man oh man, that would be the day! Wouldn't it be great to know why and how they built those great monuments in Egypt, Sumer (present day Iraq), the Aztec lines, the Easter Island statues, and tons of others artifacts that no one have a clue what they are for.
Of course, the greatest mystery that we have is when our time in this physical realm is up and we have to cross to the next....I would perceive this to be the ultimate journey that a human will undergo. Once only and for eternity. Have a safe journey everyone!
