Detachment from Gaiea

I have been intrigued from time to time with the world of sufism, not because of its practices and sometimes unique appearance of the followers. It could be thought as odd by us perhaps.

My fascination probably revolves around these ideas:
- Ability to somehow directly make the connection through the One, at anytime, anywhere and at whatever knowledge we have in our faith. This gives me hope that even I, an unlearned one by any measures, can attempt to achieve the Truth.
- Most sufists tend to be very tolerant (at least people who started it), a projection that I believe come from within and not forced as in syari'ah, with its rigid and sometimes overbearing rules. Often time, people make institutional religion too dogmatic for anyone to be interested in learning more (or it could be that we are just lazy)
- This one point is the last one I can think of for now, but this is the most important one that I found. It is the ability to somehow be able to "detach" yourself from this world and have a different "view" toward it. To put it simply, it is like fish in the sea, that do not get salty eventhough they are surrounded by salt water. How do we live in a sea of life and somehow not corrupted by its illusions of wealth, happiness, sadness and various physical and mental conditions that come with it? Why is it so hard for us to shake the idea of millisecond in Mother Earth vs Eternity hereafter?

It may be too contemptuous of me to even come up with the above conclusion, but it is a process that I believe we must all strife to reach......to understand our nature here and know what our purpose is. Without purpose, this world that we live in is quite empty and.........has no meaning. I believe that understanding the above will bring us to a true happiness. May we all strife and persevere until the end.Any counter feedback on this will be appreciated.

How Many Masks Do You Have?

I guess it is cliche of me to say that we all wear masks everyday. Thank God for our masks, we are not ashamed by others and we don't have to take cover for whatever happened in the past. It is kept secret between you and......whoever you tell or God.

Without masks, there must be chaos in this world, as the broken barriers will unleash things that no one want to hear, see or feel. Without masks, no one would be married perhaps, since we know exactly what the other person is like....hehehe, not a good thing, is it?However, there are times when we have to drop this completely, when having no mask is really going to save our humanity, our essence of the soul. I am not here to explain when the times are, I am only saying that each of us will know when we have to drop that mask and let our true self come out for all to see, for better or worse.

Hope your masks bode well for you in your beautiful lives!Addendum;Seems that some of you are interested in this subject. Well, let`s make a list of mask types, at least ones that I know:
1. Clothes. This is a bodily mask that would cover our physical body so at least we would appear to be normal, well, at least by general standard of acceptance.
2. Facial mask. This is the one where you go to salon to make your bodily mask more beautiful, hehehe
3. Mental masks. This is the one that we all try to put differently perhaps, to a different place. Either consciously or unconsciously, we project a certain image that others would interpret according to what they see of us.

Can`t think of anything else at the moment, but there are times I think you will drop your mask, well, at least most of them; in front of your life partner, a super close friend or your parents.
